About Us

South County Youth Network, Inc. (SCYN) is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization/coalition that has served the Mt. Vernon and West Potomac school-communities for over 10 years.  SCYN’s mission is to support through community collaboration quality drug and violence prevention strategies, programs, and activities for adults and youth.  To accomplish our mission, SCYN works collaboratively with FCPS Student Safety and Wellness office, FCPS Family and School Partnerships, local government agencies, Fairfax County Police Department, FCPS elementary, middle and high schools, and the faith community.

Mission

To strengthen our community of students and parents making lifestyle choices to be safe and drug free-based on a personal demonstration of core virtues of character and values. To provide the community with a means to network and be actively involved in positive activities that foster teamwork toward our individual, family and community goals.
